I am a wife, a mom to two boys, and a mom to three golden retrievers. I have also recently taken up gardening. I started Catherine’s Cupcake Creations when a school mom asked if I could bake some cupcakes for her small business in 2018 as she had seen some of my cupcakes that I had baked. I said ok nervously and it was a good starting point because 4 years later I am still baking. I opened Catherine’s Cupcake Creations in January 2019. So yes, I am self-taught and learn daily. I have met many interesting people along the way, attended workshops, networked and wherever I am given an opportunity I try my utmost to be there, partake or do. There have been many laughs along the way, a few tears but most of all a lovely community of fellow bakers, clients, friends and my family that keep me baking.
As I bake a lot of cupcakes and the occasional cake I use Flavour Nation flavours to give my buttercream icing an edge to take the bake to another level. The most popular flavour is the marshmallow flavour. I recently discovered and tried the cream cheese flavour, yum! For children I would say the gummy candy and ice cream flavours are popular. For adults I find hazelnut, cookies and cream and mint chocolate (choc mint crisp) are favourites.
I love the strawberry flavour the most. It just smells so amazing, fresh, gives another level of yumminess and enhances my buttercream icing.
I stumbled across Flavour Nation at my local baking store about three years ago and was like what is this and why do I need it and what do I use it in/for? Sent Flavour Nation a DM to ask how to use the product and understand it better which helped me a lot. Now my clients message me the flavour they want before I see the order request.
