My name is Natasha, the founder and only employee for now, of Tashes Amakhekhe. I knew how to bake since my teen years but never had a real interest in it. In 2015 I was asked to contribute something for our church cake sale and baked my favourite chocolate cake recipe which was a total hit. Our Pastor prayed for me and anointed me as a baker. Afterwards I had a few church members and family members asking me to bake for them, but because I was not sure how to charge for my work I basically gave everything I baked away for free.
I stopped baking in 2017 when I started becoming frustrated with my baking and decided I needed some training. In 2019 I saved up enough money to complete a two week baking course and my business has taken off from there. I am a full time baker and work full-time in the bank and am super busy thanks to my loyal clients always giving me business. I watch a lot of Youtube videos and am connected to a lot of baking and cake decorating groups where I learn most of the things I know now. Luckily for me, the second baking supply shop I walked into was selling Flavour Nation flavours and from the first bottle I bought, I was hooked. From then onwards I buy a new flavour every time I stock up or just a new bottle of my favourite flavours. My all time favourites are: Rose, Cream Cheese, Strawberry, Blueberry, Turkish Delight, Elderflower, Marula Cream, Ice-Cream, Cookies and Cream, and Passion Fruit.
